Consumer Culture
02:24
|
|||
Consumer culture eating entertainment
till we're so full of shit that we can't even contain it
Garbage falls out of our mouths like vomit
pooling on the floor in desperate need of some comet
To clean this mee up, this brutal stain in the carpet
one day we'll realize we control the stock market
We'll rise up like ants, a mighty culture colony
preparedness our strengh and personal philosophy
Some kids they peak in high school
Some kids they drop out first
others don't need attention
Some kids so bad it hurts
and all the world is high school
here in the USA
when all that you can 'like' to
makes up your DNA

Find Yourself
02:32
|
|||
Go on out an find yourself some love
This love is real that much is true
Well I found mine, now how 'bout you
If you want something this bad you gotta try
To be there when you're needed to
To fill that need and then follow through
And you'll find out that it all come back to you
Find someone who wants to build something,
and buy that one a wedding ring
Seal the deal and make it real,
and learn what it means to feel
Go on out and find yourself some love
Your heart's meant to gamble,
w/ bruises in shambles
The wheel of sorrow
I can't understand it,
this pain here it's madness
And all for what?
There's something beneath this,
below I can feel it
That lifts me up inside
And sends me reeling from the first time that I realized
this is the last time that i'd fly
And I'm never coming back down
Cause this is where I'm from
and where I finally can lay my heavy crown

The Dead
04:25
|
|||
The dead are out on main street
Always looking for a soul to steal
Cause they've lost their own
and they're all alone
So they're reaching out to someone
Roll up your windows don't look into their eyes
Their just a death hiding in a disguise
And if you look and you still wonder
why won't you say
No time to stop and smell the scent of the roses
Before his rotten body decomposes
And in the end all he really know is
i'll get mine and you'll get yours

The Runaround
01:13
|
|||
We'll do the runaround all over town
Living life so fast our feet don't touch the ground
and then we'll scream and shout and let it all hang out
we'll show them people what that punk rockin' is all about
and then we'll f****** rage, we'll f****** rearange
We'll show the whole world what it's like to be living strange
and you're my alibi, this ain't no God damn lie
I'm gonna live my life until the day I die
We'll drink till we drop no we're never gonna stop
No we're always gonna be this way
We're rude and we're crude and we're all in the nude
and if you ask me right now I'll say
We're all having fun under this great hot sun
and that's the way we hope it will stay
You wont be seein' us in court on judgment day

Sons and Daughters
02:21
|
|||
We've got children a'dyin', we've got parents a'cryin'
Let's give it up for gun control, cause thats how we roll
We're lost in control. With greed as our goal, no one will ever find me.
Cause I keep my head down, I keep my feet on the ground
Marchin' towards what I wanna see, and that's you and me
above the debris we're finally free to build what we want to be
We've got good people and bad, we've got happy and sad
leaving nobody in between. But what does that mean?
Part of the same scene, we can disagree. We are not enemies.
Cause we are the people though we may not understand
what one another thinks cause we come from a different land.
But ain't that grand, how we can join hands
come up with a plan to help our fellow man.
We are the sons and daughters.

Politicians
02:31
|
|||
Them politicians got one thing on their minds
In their hearts a wallet, in their eyes a dollar sign
They like to call it inteligent design
Well it ain't inteligent to walk that line
when the end is comin' why can't you read the sign
Big corperation makes isolation
for the population in their own nation
and our inclination to excitation
leads to explanation for our frustration
If we sorted through all the garbage by hand
we'd be creating jobs and using everything we can
Before it's too late and all that sand
is at the bottom of the hourglass it's time to take a stand
Let's be Native Americans and respect this land
Stop the landfill
Break the silence
Ingnorant man kills
the Earth with violence

You can go your whole life waiting
for wisdom to come knockin' at your door
But it's been there one hundered times before
in fact it's been there since the day that you were born
It's criminal to point out contradictions
in other people's convictions
when they don't want to look at their foundation
only to find lies and manipulation
But ain't that the way that it goes
when you find out that nobody knows
what it's like what you're going through
It's the game of life it's called payin' your dues
It's the reason the right choice ain't always the easiest
Reason's the reason it's all what you make of it
I've made my bed and I'll lie in it too
You've made your own grave
I won't lie in it for you
Someone drew this line in the sand
deviding people by what they think
But I don't think that's necessary
We can agree we think differently
The most successful tool against hateful speech
is not repression, but it is more speech
Tolerance of bigotry, blasphemy
values of understanding and mutual respect
But ain't that the way that it goes
when you find out that nobody knows
what it's like what you're going through
It's the game of life it's called payin' your dues
It's the reason the right choice ain't always the easiest
Reason's the reason it's all what you make of it
I've made my bed and I'll lie in it too
You've made your own grave
I won't lie in it for you

On My Feet
02:40
|
|||
I just found out about yesterday
that there is no one comin' up around the way
to offer to carry me home
So I'll get up by myself
I'll show 'em I can do it all by myself
and I wander these streets at night I call my home
I'm not bitter I'm not defeat
I'm just proud to stand on my feet
Shout my voice up into the sky
I'm just happy to be alive!
So I went from town to town
tellin' everybody I'm the best around
playin' for nickels and dimes suites me just fine
'til I found the one that understands
you gotta pull yourself up by your on two hands
Now I don't have to struggle out on my own
I'm not bitter I'm not defeat
I'm just proud to stand on my feet
Shout my voice up into the sky
I'm just happy to be alive!
I was payin' for learnin', but only learned to pay
'til I got up the courage to walk the other way
and go out and learn by doin', so that's what I did
I wasn't wishin' my whole life away
I was pursuing dreams that I know some would say
are difficult to realize and challenging to say the least
If I hadn't choseb to persevere
there's a million different places I could be besides here,
and not one of them I would ever trade for the love I have found
